This Privacy Policy describes how Maply ("we", "us") handles personal information when you use our website and application at the domain where Maply is hosted (the "Service"). It is provided for transparency and is not legal advice; please speak to counsel if you need guidance for your situation.
Who we are
Maply provides AI-assisted resume fit checks against job postings. The Service is operated by the Maply project maintainers. For privacy requests, use the contact channel published on the Service or your organisation's administrator if Maply is deployed privately.
Information we process
- Account data. When you sign in with Clerk, we receive identifiers such as your user id, name, and email address so we can create your workspace and secure your account.
- Resume and job content. You may upload a resume file or paste job descriptions. Extracted text and AI outputs (fit scores, recommendations) are stored so you can return to them in your workspace.
- Technical data. Like most web services, servers and infrastructure providers may process IP addresses, timestamps, and diagnostic logs for security and reliability.
How we use information
We use the data above to:
- Authenticate you and prevent abuse (including rate limits and fraud prevention).
- Run the core product: parsing documents, calling AI models, and saving analyses you request.
- Maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
Processors and third parties
We rely on subprocessors to run the Service, including for example authentication (Clerk), database and backend (Convex), AI inference (Mistral AI when configured), and hosting (such as Vercel). Their use of data is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.
Retention and deletion
We retain your stored resumes and fit analyses until you delete them from the workspace or delete your account, subject to any longer retention required by law or legitimate security backups. You can remove individual resumes and analyses using the in-app controls.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, depending on where subprocessors operate. We rely on appropriate safeguards offered by those providers.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights where applicable. You may also manage some data directly through your Clerk account and in-app deletion features.
Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will change when we do.
